GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Islamic Jihad’s military wing published two short videos showing what it said was a new type of rocket launcher firing projectiles toward Israeli targets.
The footage shows three rockets launched toward Israeli tanks, according to the group.
The Al-Quds Brigades says it has fired about 70 rockets and missiles toward Israeli communities in response to Israeli attacks on the people of the Gaza Strip.
Islamic Jihad said it had fired 70 short-range rockets and mortar bombs across the border since Saturday, salvos which drove Israeli residents to blast shelters.

At least one Israeli, in the town of Sderot, was wounded, ambulance workers said.
Earlier a jeep ambush injured four soldiers in what Israeli officials called an attack that was part of a Palestinian strategy of trying to curb its countermeasures against possible cross-border infiltration.
The al-Quds Brigades said it fired 13 rockets towards the city of Ashkelon and the PFLP’s Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said it fired three rockets into the western Negev, while the Al-Mujahideen brigades claimed responsibility for two rockets.
Earlier, the Popular Resistance Committee said it had fired four rockets at communities close to the border and the towns of Sderot and Netivot in southern Israel, in what it called “the revenge invoice” for Israeli tank attacks on Gaza.
“We reaffirm the option of confrontation and resistance to the occupation, and we will continue our resistance and our military responses as long as the occupation continues,” the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said in a statement.

An Israeli army statement said it too was escalating attacks as aircraft targeted a weapon manufacturing facility, two weapon storage facilities and two rocket launching sites in northern Gaza, as well as a weapon storage facility and a “terror activity site” in southern Gaza.
Direct hits were confirmed, the statement said.
It said 30 rockets had been fired from the Gaza Strip in the previous seven hours.

Fatah: PFLP Leader Planning to Assassinate Mahmoud Abbas

April 1, 2012
Media_httpwwwcrwflags_dfbec

(h/t Challah)(@ The Jerusalem Post)

The leader of a Syrian-based radical Palestinian PFLP group is planning to assassinate Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Fatah claimed on Saturday.

The claim followed statements made by Ahmed Jibril, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, in which he strongly denounced Abbas and his predecessor, Yasser Arafat, for signing the Oslo Accords with Israel. “Ahmed Jibril is a hired agent,” Fatah said in a statement released in Ramallah. “He is operating on instructions from his handlers in the region who seek to eliminate President Abbas.”

The statement did not name the “handlers.” However, a Fatah official in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that the statement referred to Syria and Iran. According to Fatah, Jibril’s attacks on the PA leadership came after he “failed to exploit Land Day to achieve political gains.”

Fatah accused Jibril of planning to dispatch Palestinians to the borders with Israel as part of the Global March to Jerusalem, an event that was organized last Friday by a coalition of pro-Palestinian organizations around the world.

“Ahmed Jibril is a merchant for Palestinian and Arab blood,” Fatah charged. “He is desperately trying to appease outside parties in an attempt to destroy the political achievements of our people and their wise leadership.”

this is the second time Challah posted it. I ignored it the first time because it seemed too dramatic to be real.

Something rotten in Sweden – Op-ed: While world seeks to defeat terror, Stockholm welcomes notorious terrorist into country

June 10, 2011
The taxpayers of Sweden have just funded a visit to their country of

‘Palestinian’ terrorist Leila Khaled….

Sweden’s contribution to the question of how to deal with terrorism was to provide a welcome mat – in the form of a taxpayer-funded lecture tour – for the notorious Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) airplane hijacker, Leila Khaled.

On the Iranian front, Bildt distinguished himself as one of the EU leaders most opposed to increased sanctions against Tehran. The very same diplomat rushed to Istanbul in June 2010 to personally greet and have his picture taken with Swedish participants in the infamous Turkish Gaza Flotilla.
If Sweden is serious about opposing terrorism and promoting Mideast peace, it must reveal the circumstances behind Leila Khalid’s entry and departure from Swedish and EU Territory and who approved the allocation of taxpayers’ funds for a woman who stands for everything Osama Bin Laden lived and died for.

Norway, PFLP and the Itamar killings

April 18, 2011

Israel has arrested two PFLP members for the Itamar killings. As recently as in 2009 the youth wing of a Norwegian political party raised funds for the PFLP.

Read about the PFLP association of the arrested youths here. Read our fact page on Norway and the PFLP. Excerpt below:
Rød Ungdom (Red Youth), the youth wing of Rødt (Red), raised funds for PLFP in the summer of 2009. See below for an unauthorized translation from Rød Ungdom’s web-site featuring an interview with their leader, Mari Eifring.

Rød Ungdom’s summer camp has a long tradition of collecting funds for political movements the organization is engaged in solidarity work for. Previously money has been collected for the Labor party of Kurdistand and the Maoist-party in Nepal. The collected funds from this year’s camp, which started on Utøya on Tuesday, goes to the Palestinian liberation movement PFLP.

We must recognize the Palestinian’s right to resist the occupying force of Israel. The situation in the Middle East is similar to a war, and you do not become a terrorist by fighting against an occupation, says Eifring. Earlier this year she travelled with two other representatives from RU to Palestine, and met among other PFLP’s parliament representative Khalida Jarrar (picture). – It was strange to meet a politician, a member of the Palestinian legislative assembly, who is counted as a dangerous terrorist.

There is an interesting interview with Khalida Jarrar on Al-Masakin news agency, where Ms.Jarrar among other replies to this question:

figures the Norwegian Nazi Socialists were behind this

Arlene Kushner On Capture of the Palestinian Terrorist Who Massacred The Folgel Family

April 17, 2011

A gag order that was in effect during the course of the investigation of the terrorist attack on the Fogel family — which saw the parents and three of their children (pictured below) cruelly slaughtered — has now been lifted.  The commander of the IDF in Samaria Col. Nimrod Aloni has announced: “The murderers are in our hands.” The terrorists are Amjad Awad, 19, and Hakim Awad 18, from Awarta, an Arab village near Itamar, where the Fogel family lived. Members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), they were assisted by at least six others, four of them from the Awad family. All have been taken into custody. They have confessed and expressed readiness to become “martyrs.” Not only have they not expressed regret for their actions, they said they would have killed two other brothers who were in the house, had they known they were there. via daledamos.blogspot.com

so much for the theory that the murder was done by Asian foreign workers

HRW appoints PFLP terrorist named Jabarin as an advisor

February 16, 2011

Shawan Jabarin, director of Al Haq, talks on the phone at his office in Ramallah last March. A grant given to Al Haq has raised ire at Rights & Democracy. (Nasser Shiyoukhi/Associated Press)

From The Daily Beast:

A Palestinian whom Israel’s Supreme Court has described as a “Jekyll and Hyde” of international terrorism has been appointed by Human Rights Watch (HRW) to its advisory board that oversees the sensitive reporting on Arab-Israeli affairs.
The man at the center of the dispute, Shawan Jabarin, runs the human rights organization Al Haq in Ramallah on the occupied West Bank. In 1985 he belonged to a Birzeit University student group associated with the PFLP, indicted as a terror group, by 30 countries including the U.S., the European Union, and Canada. He was convicted of recruiting members for terrorist training outside Israel and served nine months of a 24-month jail sentence.

Calls over several days to [HRW’s Sarah Leah] Whiston were not returned. In a telephone conversation, [HRW’s Ken] Roth at first said it was “not true” that Jabarin had been a member of PFLP, then added: “And if he had been, it’s ancient history.” He would not discuss the Supreme Court judgments. In an email, Roth defended the appointment saying Jabarin had had no association with the PFLP or any other political organization since joining the staff of Al Haq in 1987.

In fact, Jabarin was arrested by Israel in 1994 for heading the PFLP – while he was already working for Al Haq.
And in 2003, Israel allowed Jabarin to travel to Jordan – and Jordan refused to let him in because of his terror record.
Al Haq is hardly an unbiased “human rights” organization either. It engages in “lawfare” against Israel. One of the papers on its website justifies terrorism as legal:

[R]esistance against occupation and its arbitrary practices is legitimate under international law, and these acts are considered a part of the Palestinian people‘s resistance and struggle against occupation in order to achieve their right to liberation and independence, the occupation forces call it “terrorism”…

So not only is HRW trying to appoint a terrorist who has been shown to be a credible current threat by Israel’s Supreme Court, but they are using his service to a “human rights” organization that supports terror as their main proof that he is not a terrorist!
No wonder that HRW’s founder, Robert Bernstein, said, “I am of course shocked but even more saddened that an organization dedicated to the rule of law seems to be deliberately undermining it.”
