Syrians slaughtered, but U.N. too busy condemning Israel 3 times at View from Geneva

July 30, 2012
(unwatch) As Syrians continue to be slaughtered, the U.N. is once again too busy condemning Israel to respond to those pleading for help in Aleppo and elsewhere.
The world body’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the principal organ under the U.N. Charter tasked with addressing human rights and fundamental freedoms, has just concluded its annual session by turning a blind eye to the ongoing massacres by the Assad regime. Instead,  a list of all its resolutions for the entire world shows that ECOSOC condemned only one single country: Israel. Two resolutions were adopted against Israel, and one report.

Sponsored by Algeria for the Third World grouping known as G-77, and by Turkey, a one-sided and politicized resolution was adopted on July 26 with the following title: “Economic and social repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan.”
It passed by an automatic and massive majority of 45 to 2, with only Canada and the United States having the courage to say no. Australia, Cameroon and El Salvador abstained. (MORE)

Without any sense of shame, the resolution urges Israel to “facilitate visits of the Syrian citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan whose family members reside in their mother homeland, the Syrian Arab Republic” (par. 13).
In other words, the U.N. human rights session had the gall to actually address Syria without mentioning a word about the Syrians now being bombed, gunned down and mutilated. Instead, Syria was mentioned only for the purpose of demonizing Israel.
The hypocrisy gets worse. At a time when millions of Syrians are desperately seeking to flee Assad’s terror, a massive U.N. majority, acting through the only country resolution of the session, has just urged Israel to enable people — the Druze of the Golan Heights – to travel to Syria. No joke.

Worldwide ‘Caravan’ Set to ‘Liberate Jerusalem’ for Assholes

November 4, 2011
March on Majdal Shams, May 15March on Majdal Shams, May 15 (israel National News h/t Sarah Leah Lawent) Israeli security officials are keeping a wary eye out on several groups that are planning mass marches on Jerusalem. One march is scheduled for November 25, and is being organized by the group that tried to conduct a mass march to Jerusalem last September.
This time, however, organizers – and Israeli security officials – believe that the group may attract larger numbers. The group is set out from three locations – Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon – on November 25, with the objective of reaching Jerusalem on November 29, the anniversary of the adoption of the UN partition plan for Mandatory Palestine. Officials said that the group was encouraged by the recent attempt – and temporary success – of Syrian Druze who “invaded” the Golan Heights for several hours, tearing down a border fence to enter the country. Several sources claimed that some of the Syrian Druze were able to enter the interior of Israel, with several claiming to have reached Tel Aviv.
But even more worrisome is another march is scheduled for March 2012, Israeli officials said. That march is being organized by Indian activist Feroze Mithiborwala, who said in a recent press conference in Pakistan that the march will unite people from all over the world, and of all faiths – including Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Jews – “to participate in the march towards the Jerusalem and liberate it from the Zionists.” The march would be in the form of a “caravan” which would start from three directions – Asia, Europe, and Africa, originating in India, Turkey and Morocco respectively. The caravans would stop in all the countries on the way and pick up more participants. The objective is to gather hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people at the borders of Israel who would simply push their way through, reaching Jerusalem and “liberating” it.
A group helping to organize the March event, the International Committee of the Global March towards Al-Quds, said in a statement this week that “since the Zionist occupation of 78% of Palestine in 1948, and the subsequent occupation of Jerusalem and the rest of Palestine in 1967, we have witnessed growing efforts to Judaize Jerusalem and colonize Palestine. These crimes against humanity are done under the political protection and full support of successive American administrations and enforced by its veto at the United Nations.
“Jerusalem and all of Palestine need to be liberated, redeemed and restored as a land of freedom and coexistence by people of the world from all religious and cultural backgrounds. As part of this movement and at the invitation of Palestinians, we decided to organize a Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ) aimed at raising awareness of the mortal threat to Jerusalem and all of Palestine by the hands of Zionists and helping us move closer to the day of freedom.”
Mithiborwala is the head of Indian radical political group Awami Bharat, which bills itself as conducting “an international struggle against imperialism, Zionism, and Brahmanism.”

If it were shear numbers that were the issue then Israel would of fallen a long time ago. I suppose it might be a public relations nightmare to shoot a million people, but Israel has little to lose in that forum. Sounds less like a peace march and more like Night of the Living dead.

Nakba Historiography for EAST PRUSSIA

..most of the German inhabitants, which then consisted principally of women, children, and old men, did manage to escape the Red Army as part of the largest exodus of people in human history. “A population which had stood at 2.2 million in 1940 was reduced to 193,000 at the end of May 1945.….. …

The “Nakba” Debunked By Steven Plaut:

More generally, I think that any time anyone suggests that we need to… empathize with the “Nakba” of the “Palestinians” – they should be… directed to contemplating East Prussia…. East Prussia, where in many ways World War II began (in Hitler’s… campaign for Danzig), was emptied out near the end of the war, with… hundreds of thousands of Germans fleeing the approaching Red Army and… the impending battles, and with hundreds of thousands more evicted… after the Soviets pushed through East Prussia into Berlin. In all,… 1.8 to 2.2 million East Prussians were driven out or fled. That is 4… times the number of “Palestinian refugees” from 1948-49. Parts of… East Prussia were annexed by Russia, the rest being incorporated into… Poland. …

And what about mourning for their “catastrophe?” No one, not even… the worst bleeding heart in the West, has ever believed East Prussians…

The fortress Ordensburg Marienburg, founded in 1274,… the world’s largest brick castle … and the Teutonic Order‘s headquarters on the River Nogat.

deserve any sympathy or support or compensation for their “plight.”… They were part of the German monstrosity that had launched the war and… they became refugees as a direct result of the crimes and aggressions… of the German people, crimes they most enthusiastically endorsed and… in which they participated. Exactly like the circumstances under… which “Palestinian Arabs” became refugees as a result of launching a… genocidal war of aggression and then losing…. Think the “Palestinians” deserve compassion? Nearly 200 Druze living in the Golan Heights protested in Majdal Shams against Syrian President Bashar Assad and his regime

The Druze

(Arabic: درزي, derzī or durzī, plural دروز, durūz; Hebrew: דרוזים‎, Druzim; also transliterated Druz or Druse) are a religious community found primarily in Lebanon, Israel, and Syria whose traditional religion is said to have begun as an offshoot of the Ismaili sect of Islam, but is unique in its incorporation of Gnostic, neo-Platonic and other philosophies. Theologically Druze consider themselves “an Islamic Unist, reformatory sect”,[8]. The Druze call themselves Ahl al-Tawhid (“People of Monotheism”) or al-Muwahhidūn (“Monotheists“).
Druze are not considered Muslims by most other Muslims because they are believed to address prayers to the Fatimid caliph Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, whom they regard as “a manifestation of God in His unity.” [9] Druze believe Al-Hakim did not die but went into occulation (was hidden by God) and will return as the Mahdi on Judgement Day.[10] The origin of the name Druze is traced to Nashtakin ad-Darazi, one of the first preachers of the religion. via image Flag of Jabal el Druze (state)

Lebanese politician describes veiled Saudi Women as resembling black garbage bags, riots ensue

March 16, 2011
covered women
but I prefer….

this Trash Bag to Wear…

There were demonstrations anyway. Angry Arab calls them riots. Here is the story from YaLibnan:

Druze religious leader Sheikh el Aql Naim Hassan condemned on Tuesday Wiam Wahab’s description of veiled Saudi women as “black trash bags, ” Future News reported
Future News also reported that Hassan, who is the highest Druze spiritual authority called President Michel Suleiman earlier in the day to condemn the comments made by Wahab, who is a Druze.
Wahab , a staunch ally of Syria and Hezbollah told OTV on Monday “Saudi women are black trash bags we see nothing of,” in reference to their attire. He also slammed outgoing Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Saudi Arabia.
In a related development angry protesters took to the streets and blocked North Lebanon’s international road in protest against Wahab’s comments on Saudi women.
Around 500 protesters gathered and chanted “There is no God but God” and “Wiam, you pig; you should be chained down.”
National News Agency (NNA) reported that the northern Abboudiyeh road that links Lebanon to Syria was blocked by burning tires.
The NNA added that security forces intervened to try and re-open the road.
Tripoli is Lebanon’s second-largest city and is considered the stronghold of the country’s Sunni Muslim community, which is the majority in Saudi Arabia. […]

Walid Jumblatt and Hezbollah also condemned the statement. “Black garbage bags” is probably too harsh a description. Burritos might be a more diplomatic comparison.

TAKE BACK ISRAEL FROM THE LEFTISTS! Israeli police open fire on Jewish civilians, wound 15

February 28, 2011

they were not Jewish police.  this is not sovereignty.  don’t tread on me.

Border police arrested eight residents of the Gilad Farm during the demolition of buildings there. According to the settlers, 13 residents were injured during the evacuation, as a result of police violence. The police deny using excessive force

The most amazing thing about this story is that it is not even being reported on Israel Radio. Perhaps that isn’t so amazing. It’s no secret that Israel Radio is totally Leftist and hates the revenants (what some of you call ‘settlers’).
Israel’s border police – who are largely made up of what is so delicately called ‘minorities‘ (Bedouin and Druze) – shot rubber bullets and tear gas at revenants at Gilad’s Farm during a raid that took place at 4:00 am on Monday. Gilad’s Farm is an outpost that overlooks Route 60, the main North-South road through Samaria. It is just north of Geva Binyamin and Kochav Yaakov.

Setters claimed that Border Police forces shot rubber bullets and tear gas at them during the demolition of three structures at the unauthorized outpost of Gilad Farm in Samaria on Monday.
According to police, eight settlers were arrested during the clashes that broke out when they entered the outpost in a pre-dawn raid. Settlers claimed that 12 people were bruised by rubber bullets.
Police said they responded only after stones were thrown at them and they understood that a number of settlers had knives and instruments which could be used for stabbing.
Settlers have called for an immediate investigation into the incident. Police said they operated according to the rules of engagement, but they did not respond to the specific charges.
MK Michael Ben Ari (National Union), who was at Gilad Farm, claimed that Border Police pushed him to the ground. He added that he retrieved a rubber bullet from the scene.

Here’s video of the incident – decide for yourselves.
Let’s go to the videotape.

And for those of you who question whether they really used rubber bullets, over at the Muqata, Joe Settler has pictures of people who were wounded that were taken by Jameel (who was there).
Israel Radio reports on its 12:00 newscast that the police claim they used paint bullets and not rubber bullets.

Border Police forces arrested the night (two) of eight residents of the Gilad Farm, the demolition of buildings there. Five of them were arrested on suspicion of holding a knife or spikes, and one was arrested on suspicion of throwing stones at security forces. Two other people were arrested on suspicion of logging trees. Among those arrested Even stranger to me, establishes outpost named for his brother Gilad, who was killed in a shooting.

According to the settlers , 13 residents were injured during the evacuation, as a result of police violence. Following the event, expected today roadblocks and demonstrations in the West Bank.

Police and security forces left the outpost, after three buildings were built illegally destroyed. Gilad Farm residents have expressed great anger on the scope of powers assigned to the demolition of buildings, and made serious complaints about the alleged use of violence by police against the settlers. They argue that few police officers also fired at close range with rubber bullets on local residents.

The settlers insist that have pictures of stun grenades and rubber bullets used against them, but police denied the allegations, saying that the settlers threw stones at people. “כוחות הביטחון הגיבו באמצעים לפי מדרג הפרות הסדר. ככלל, האמצעים בהם השתמשו הכוחות הם לא-קטלניים ונועדו לבלום את ההתפרעויות”, נמסר. “Security forces responded to the means by level of disturbances. In general, the means used by forces they do not – meant to curb the deadly riots,” it said.

“ראינו מה קורה שמשטר יורה על אזרחיו” “We saw what happens regime shoots on its citizens”

“זוהי הכרזת מלחמה עלינו”, אומר בתגובה יהודה שמעון , מתושבי המאחז. “This is a declaration of war on us,” says Yehuda Shimon response, residents of the outpost. “Midnight arrived enormous forces of over a thousand people to demolish three buildings. One of them is a soldier. What kind of message it now takes to choose who gives his body for the country? There are thousands of demolition orders for buildings of Arabs here in the region to be destroyed, such as Invalid mosque in the village of Burin, but the civil administration claims it has enough personnel. Apparently demolishing buildings of Jews who serve the state can allocate hundreds of fighters and use even by means of UAVs against us. אין ברירה, על התושבים ביישובים להתעורר בהקדם”. There is no choice, residents in wake soon. ”

Michael Ben-Ari MK (National Union) said that “only the Likud can shoot rubber bullets to sit down and continue to fight the Jews and destroy homes. בזמן שההתנתקות הביאה עלינו גראדים בבאר שבע, עסוקים נתניהו ואהרונוביץ’ בחורבן ובפגיעה חסרי תקדים במתיישבים. While the disengagement brought us Grads Beer Sheva, busy Netanyahu Aharonovitch unprecedented destruction and compromising the settlers. מה שרבין ואולמרט לא עשו עושה ממשלת ימין”. What Olmert, Rabin did not do right-wing government. ”

Organization Women in Green said: “We protest strongly the use of rubber bullets by security forces against residents of the Gilad Farm. Bleating responsibility instead rests on Prime Minister Netanyahu, who must stop hiding Mahuer Defense Minister Ehud Barak. The end of the firing regimes on their citizens, we see countries around us. ”

Vaad settlers of Samaria said: “Gilad Farm destruction and violence are acts of provocation in response to Ehud Barak and settlers to expropriate the Knesset demand from the construction permit granting authority and trying to rebuild his standing on the left, after learning his list is deleted the next election. Barak, like other enemies of the settlement will remain a footnote in history Jewish. ”
