New Zealand’s ‘Miss Universe’ winner may lose title over lack of citizenship

June 5, 2012

(yahoo) New Zealand’s Miss Universe winner Avianca Bohm (Facebook)The winner of 2012’s New Zealand’s “Miss Universe” contest may have her title stripped just days after earning the right to represent her adopted country in the international beauty pageant.

The New Zealand Herald reports that 22-year-old Avianca Bohn is not actually a citizen of the country. In fact, Bohn was born in South Africa and immigrated to New Zealand when she was 16.
Bohn is lobbying for her citizenship to be fast-tracked, allowing her to still compete in the competition this December.
In a somewhat ironic twist, Donald Trump, who has generated headlines and criticism by repeatedly questioning the citizenship of President Barack Obama, hosts the Miss Universe pageant.
“Everyone’s got contacts, and it’s one of the first things that we’re going to do and sort out,” she told the paper. “It’s just the paperwork. I mean New Zealand is such a multicultural country. It’s not an issue to me at all, I’m not even worried about that.”

if those be the rules she can be Miss Universe in my bedroom. Obama can’t though

Jenna Talackova — armed with Gloria Allred as her lawyer — fires back at Miss Universe Canada

April 4, 2012

This might shock you considering my opinions on Gay Marriage, but if this were the United States I would say Ms. Talackova has a right to compete because there is no legitimate state interest in gender discrimination. That is how the SCOTUS has found things… and that is probably how I would see things as well. Of course I don’t know Canadian laws, but my guess is that they are more liberal then ours. She did lie about if she was born a woman or not, but she might very well see herself as always being a woman. Most certainly there are some people that are born without any gender at all and chose to go a certain direction… it all depends on how we declare gender. Even in the Torah there is no criteria of deciding what makes a man or woman. I suppose the Orthodox will remind us that the tradition is to not alter the human body, but she is not a Jew. So on what grounds… legal or moral do we have to throw her out of pageant?

(National Post)On Monday, amid mounting public backlash, the organization reversed the decision, but added the caveat that Ms. Talackova must meet “the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada.” During Tuesday’s press conference, Ms. Talackova produced her Canadian passport, which identifies her as a woman, and called on Mr. Trump to say, “in plain words whether or not I will be allowed to compete.”
“I have never asked for any special consideration, I only wanted to compete,” she said.
The Miss Universe Organization has also asked that Ms. Talackova meet the “standards established by other international competitions.” As a result, Ms. Talackova’s bid for Miss Universe inclusion could go global, Ms. Page said. “Maybe that’s what Trump and company have in mind,” she said.
Ms. Allred is known for representing high-profile clients, such as: English actress Charlotte Lewis, who alleged that director Roman Polanski had sexually abused her as a teen; Nicole Brown Simpson’s family during the O.J. Simpson murder trial; and a number of Tiger Woods’ ex-lovers.
“[Donald] Trump has caved in a bit already. He has to go the rest of the way and say it loudly, and say it clearly, that not only will Jenna be allowed to compete, but that the rule is gone — no ifs, ands, buts or ors. No conditions and no excuses,” Ms. Allred told reporters.
“Otherwise, we are considering all of Jenna’s legal options.”
As international competitions go, the Olympics have typically been the staging ground for transgendered issues, with women who were born male being accused of having an unfair advantage. In 2004, just before the Athens Olympics, the International Olympic Committee ruled that transexuals could compete, as long as they had completed sex reassignment surgery — and had undergone hormone therapy for at least two years.
In the case of a beauty pageant, it is “hard to claim that Ms. Talackova has an unfair advantage over other women competing for the crown,” reads a March 29 blog post by Mercedes Allen, operator of the Alberta transgendered website
Ms. Talackova says she has known she was a female since she was four years old. She began hormone therapy at 14 and had sex reassignment surgery in 2010. “Since I was conscious I always felt this way,” she wrote in an email to Postmedia News two weeks ago.
Ms. Talackova “understandably realizes that her case could be a significant landmark for the dignity and liberty of LGBTQ citizens everywhere,” reads a weekend statement by Talackova spokesman Rory Richards. The 61st annual Miss Universe Canada pageant will begin May 11 in Toronto.(MORE)

The poll of April 15, 2011, Trump 26, Huckabee 17,

…Let the games begin.

The Mad Jewess is in love with Donald Trump… personally I just want to shack his daughter. If that gets me “fired” let me know.

The Original Arab Miss USA

the Terrorist Supporter

who who would be Secretary of State? Perez Hilton? Donald can’t even run a drag show called the Miss USA Pageant. You are so desperate for the truth to come out about Obama’s Birth Certificate that you ran to a man who said he would make Oprah his Vice President. …that’s right. Oprah… the lady who put Obama in power… and is now not endorsing anyone but the money she made from her “OWN”

Trump’s ballooning polls are drawing all the predictable reactions. But the debate over Trump misses the point. Why has Trump made such a big splash at all? It’s because he’s a bold assertive communicator who unapologetically says what so many are thinking. Whether or not he believes what he’s saying.

To anyone complaining about how well Trump is polling– that just shows what’s missing. I am not recommending Trump, his business success is mostly myth and he carefully controls and cultivates his image. But as part of his image consciousness, he has hit on exactly what it takes to oppose Obama. The Randian figure of the successful straight talking hard charging businessman, in sharp contrast to Obama’s nuances and lack of assertiveness. Obama is an egotist who pretends to be a humanitarian, Trump doesn’t pretend.

Trump would not be a problem for either Republicans or Democrats– if Republicans had their act together. But the shortage of viable candidates has created a vacuum. And the Donald just stepped into that vacuum.

To Letterman Irritation, Trump Denounces Ground Zero Mosque

September 2, 2010

LETTERMAN: The notion — does this suggest that we are in fact officially at war with Muslims? Is that what this suggests?
TRUMP: Well, somebody knocked down the World Trade Center.

I’m not sure why I’m reposting this… I guess it is because it is a cultural event and such…. but these guys are both morons. Trump is right. The Mosque is wrong… but he is afraid to come out and say the truth…. which is Islam did it because that is what Islam does. It is not a religion. It is an enemy government with delusions of a world view like a religion just like Marxism. Just because it is old doesn’t mean it is different then any other violent ideology.
sorry to kill your brain cells. I really blog these things for my own use.

Trump banned Miss California last year for Sexy photos… or was it her views on Gay Marriage?

May 11, 2010

I’d say he’s got my interest. Well, at least Miss Minnesota does.

Miss USA contestants are letting it all hang out this year!
Vamped up, cleavage-baring beauties — dressed in no more than lacy lingerie or fishnets — are gracing the Web site of the Miss USA pageant, in an eye-popping reversal from the competition’s traditional, homespun look.
Now the girl next door is lucky to have a bra.
The new sexy version of Miss USA, which airs this Sunday, comes a year after Miss California Carrie Prejean lost her crown when seminude pictures of her emerged after the competition.
Prejean was already in hot water after giving a tortured explanation of her opposition to gay marriage.
Donald Trump — who owns the Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe competitions — argued that Prejean’s sexy shots crossed a line that these Miss USA snaps don’t.
“Those were quite a bit different. There’s no open exposure [in the current Miss USA pictures],” Trump told The Post yesterday.
The 51 Miss USA wannabes were photographed for their black-and-white “glam” shots last week in Las Vegas by pageant shutterbug Fadil Berisha.
