Devil Wears Prada

June 18, 2007

I’m not going to respect you because of any cultural product or fashion. I will respect you because of your non absolute values and loyalties. I like wearing Black Latex, but I’m not going to scorn people who don’t walk around with a full body condom. You’re not a punk because you sew patches on your clothes with dental floss. I dated a girl in summer camp in 1989 who was a huge Def Leppard fan and the next year she was into the Grateful Dead and I think she was a poser. I fight against absolutists and fashion fascists like some precocious hippies and some pretentious Goths.

I just got through watching the “Devil wears Prada”… I found myself hating it and liking it at the same time. I got the whole critique of the fashion industry (I worked in it so it seemed familiar). I was annoyed because it seemed also to glamorize it. I really like the performance of the actors (Meryl Streep , Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt… Anne Hathaway or was that Julia Roberts?) It was definitely better then say “Little Black Book”, “Sex in the City” or “Coyote Ugly” or a.k.a. the same genre of girl urban success in ratio to intimate relationships. I felt the film was done well, but I find this genre of film making to be an ugly little paradox. I hate the way these films always have the damn Sprint Ring tone in them… (how much does Sprint pay for this anyway?) It just seems to be another excuse to market to the “Sex in the City“ Crowd …a completely accepting crowd of any type of moral statement as long as it gives vanity to their own meaningless life. Again, that is not to say that the “Devil” is a bad film. Nor am I saying that “Sex in the City” is a bad show either… and I even thought the writing in the show “Friends” is pretty good… There is just something annoying and bourgeois about these things. Some people would say I’m just bitter because the materialistic life full of lovers that usually never work out is something I would never experience… Probably true. And certainly I am tired of politically correct films that look like an industrial revolution Dickens story full of poor people. I think the reason “Little Miss Sunshine” was such a great movie was not that it was some kind of feminist anti fashion statement… certainly the writers were never critical of the grandfather who liked his porn… the beauty of “Little Miss Sunshine” was that it presented the drama of real average overeducated poor Americans. While the “Devil” was well done… I would like to see more stuff that seems like real people… not a story about some guilt ridden P.C. girl in the fashion industry. I’m enthusiastic about other peoples dreams, but I think these films are pornographic. Am I the only one who feels this way?

seriously: screw print publications.
the future of free thought is online.
Print is eternally controlled by reprimanding institutions… just look at the NYTIMES and the London Guardian. They are only interested in protecting internationalist objectives and stopping nationalist objectives from defending its borders. AKA “Amnesty International” and “United Nations”

If you believe in Republics… print is dead.
The revolution against the media begins online….
You can beat the system here.

There is a revolution going on… and it is going to change the world… and print is scared.

I hope you are not being coy with me.

they threatened to kill my son and my family.
they hazed me
they have a very peculiar PC culture that works like the mafia or some kind of fraternity… then they front it with a bunch of femmes and gay people…. but behind it is something ugly.

you don’t want to know what I know about publishing.

I prefer FOX news to what goes on in the liberal media corporations…. that is why I am here on FOX interactive….

like I said this is owned by Murdoch…. who is at least sane. I’m telling you the truth.

everything out there is power…. “Left” and “Right”

both sides…
the “Right” doesn’t have the pretension that the “Left” has.

trust me I grew up in the “Left”… my father was on the front page of the NYTIMES in the 60’s protesting by doing underground theatre…. he still is a believer in the “Left”…. but he is old and doesn’t realize that his Noam Chomsky values have been infiltrated by something that wants us to die.

Theory only goes so far before one realizes that it is all about the money and who gets it.

I’m always coy, but in a harmless way. It’s pretty trippy, the lengths some will go to.

Anyway, best of luck. I’m not going to be on long today, but I figured I’d drop you a line. Take it easy, darlin’.

Body: god forbid you don’t end up having a child that is a boy and be coy with him…. he will end up being a serial killer.

….that wasn’t very coy of me……
but I am not coy….
I did the fashion industry and it chewed me and tried to make me insane… and I did it all because I had a child who I loved. ….and now I live in the third floor attic in upstate NY…. contemplating on how to get free to see my kid…. and make a buck so I can keep him as far away from paper media as possible… away from art galleries and debutants and derelict and theatre fags and people who are bored and like the smell of fart.

…. But your married already…. according to your blog right? Did you marry in Massachusetts or Canada or was it a shit smiling old prick likes some vain actress who likes to run with the pack.

I know what goes on (uRi0u$ …. I grew up in LA and NY…. and I am tired of it. Do your self a favor and rent “Sunset Blvd.” and see where the vain and coy end up. Your pretty… no doubt. (yes seen the pics) …there is a whole world of pain out there….waiting for you to get just the right amount of lines on your face….. and bingo your no longer beautiful… and your just like some old person.
……..and all those fashion industry wannabes out of “Devil Wears Prada” with the “Left Wing” pretention find that they are chain smoking bitter women… salty dogs…. and the only people in fashion who are really having fun are the gay guys who get to do all the girly stuff they couldn’t do in highschool…. till they get a desease or are murdered by so jealous x-lover.

….the answers are simple in life and some day you will let prince charming sweep you off your feet and hopefully he won’t be boring for you…. because the alpha-male pricks always turn out to be such.

by the way… it isn’t neccessary to get upset at me…. you don’t know me. nor do I know you… so don’t take it seriously… but I did work in fashion and I have seen you before… only it wasn’t you. it was somebody who reminded me of your picture who liked to carpet munch…. but not really… she just liked to tell me that… truth is she was addicted to getting my attention…and in the fashion industry there is no time…. so to go for attention is a valued commodity.

yeah… I’m a psycho
I miss my kid though
