A Confluence of #Evil: #Conspiracies of Silence…From #Arafat To #Benghazi

(Adina Kutnicki) Welsh at the time was monitoring radio communications between Palestinian leaders in Beirut and the Sudanese capital. Audio tapes made in Cyprus and U.S. embassies in Beirut and Khartoum left no doubt that it was Arafat’s voice directing the operation from Feb. 28, 1973, – the day before the men were kidnapped – to their execution two days later.

Welsh believes the purpose of the initial cover-up was to prevent embarrassment to the State Department and the Richard Nixon White House. After Nixon was gone, the matter was kept quiet to protect the future viability of the NSA’s signals intercepts.
But ultimately, Welsh asserts, the cover-up persisted to protect Arafat’s role as a “peacemaker” and leader of the Palestinian cause.
If transcripts of the tapes had been released, it would have destroyed Arafat, Welsh believes.(MORE)

Suha Arafat: The 2000 Intifada Was Premeditated, Planned by Arafat

Where is Wikileaks when you need them?

May 3, 2012

(Carl) There’s a fascinating archive of papers sitting in Tunisia. Its exposure would fascinate the world. It’s the archive of Yasser Arafat’s papers and it includes plans for terror attacks. Who knows – maybe it includes Yasser’s secret Swiss bank account numbers.
There are at least three contenders for the archives: Fatah, Hamas and Suha. Who will get it? I would love to see Wikileaks buy it and publicize it….

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded that the archive of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat be handed over to his care, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported Thursday.
The documents, which are currently in Tunisia, reportedly contains fascinating information on planned terror attacks against Israeli targets, the funding sources of terror organizations and negotiations with Israeli officials from the political and security establishments.
The London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported this week that the archive has been a point of contention ever since Arafat’s death in 2004 and the Hamas-Fatah split. “Both Hamas and Fatah have wanted the archive…however, an agreement between the PLO and former Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali did not allow for the archives to be handed over,” the report stated.

It was further reported that Arafat’s widow, Suha, has also been trying to obtain the documents.
Abbas, Yedioth Ahronoth said, has filed an official request with the Tunisian government to have the documents transferred over to him. Sources told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the Palestinians will seek at least an electronic version of the archive.
“These documents are part of out national and operational history,” a Palestinian news outlet said. “If there are secrets, it is time they are revealed, even if it causes embarrassment to leaders and heads of intelligence agencies in the Arab community.”
Arafat refused to transfer the documents from Tunis for fear that Israel would get its hands on them.

Calling Mr. Assange! Calling Mr. Assange!

What the rest of us are wondering… what type of boys did Arafat prefer? Was he a top or bottom? Stuff like that… though I doubt he wrote about that… even for himself.

Besieged by angry midgets who have rewritten all the definitions and are out to ban the dictionary.

The Crisis of Jewish Leftist Islamism (by Sultan Knish)(h/t Israel Jews and Judaism) There is a civil war among liberals, particularly Jewish liberals who are being edged out by the radical Anti-Jewish left… Beinart exonerates leftist Zionists and Anti-Zionists, telling the former that they were abandoned by the awful Jewish state and telling the latter that hating Israel is the truest expression of their liberal and Jewish values… Now the left is conducting its long march through Jewish institutions to make supporting Israel seem un-Jewish and transform bashing Israel into a Jewish value (MORE)

(Tablet)(Israel Jews and Judaism) Beinart quotes former Israeli foreign minister Shlomo Ben-Ami telling Democracy Now’s Amy Goodman that “If I were a Palestinian, I would have rejected Camp David as well.” Yet Ben-Ami said in the same interview that Yasser Arafat “was morally, psychologically, physically incapable of accepting the moral legitimacy of a Jewish state, regardless of its borders or whatever.” This goes unquoted. I suspect that’s because Beinart found it in The Israel Lobby by political scientists John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, which also quotes the first part of Ben-Ami’s statement but not the second.(MORE)

(Tablet)(h/t Israel Jews and Judaism) Beinart writes that the Strip “remains a place of brutal suffering.”, but New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof says, in a July 2010 column: “Visiting Gaza persuaded me, to my surprise, that Israel is correct when it denies that there is any full-fledged humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The tunnels have so undermined the Israeli blockade that shops are filled and daily life is considerably easier than when I last visited here two years.”(MORE)

(One State, Two States by Steven Bayme)(h/t Israel Jews Judaism) Beinart complains that AJC and other leading Jewish organizations invest far greater efforts attacking Palestinian one-statism than Christian or Jewish one-statism…. we disagree profoundly with the one-state solution of the Christian Right, we find Palestinian one-statism a greater danger precisely because it is articulated by people with whom Israel is expected to make peace(MORE)

Stupid Liberal problem… they think they need a state for Jew killers. There already are plenty. Hey… these are excerpts… I don’t agree with them. These are liberal ideologies that I am exploring here. I didn’t say they were sustainable. – Noah

When Gingrich met Yasser Arafat

January 9, 2012
(news.yahoo.com)GOP presidential frontrunner Newt Gingrich stirred up plenty of controversy last week when he called Palestinians an “invented people” in an interview from the campaign trail.
“I think we have an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs and historically part of the Arab community and they had the chance to go many places,’ Gingrich told the Jewish Channel last week.
All of which makes the above 1993 photo of Gingrich, then House Minority Whip, embracing the late Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Yasser Arafat, published by the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein, perhaps noteworthy. Stein, who received the photo from a longtime political operative involved in Middle East issues, writes:

On Monday, a political operative who has been working on Palestine-Israel policy for the past 20 years sent The Huffington Post a picture of Gingrich, then the House minority whip, grasping the hand of longtime Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat immediately following the September 1993 Oslo peace accords.
The embrace, the source said, came after Arafat met with 20 to 25 House leaders over coffee. Jotting notes down in a yellow pad, Gingrich used the meeting to pitch Arafat on how best to actually construct a Palestinian state. “He said, ‘Look, here is what I think you need — an economic plan — and here is how it will work,’ ” the operative recalled. “It was a very positive contribution at the time and as they stood up, there were pictures.” ….

As you can see this is politics as usual. Bibi Netanyahu met with Arafat as well… and while I would prefer that they never of done this, the fact remains that meeting with your murderers in politics is the job of every leader. It is also the job of every leader to reject the Arafats of their day, but offering economic advice is ok because the assumption when you meet with your murderers is that you are there to help each other. Yahoo was affiliated with ABC news and one of the GOP debates this week. It is the network of Peter Jennings and Christine Amanpour… should we be shocked that the partnering corporation of abcNEWS is attempting to spin a photograph?

Tunisia lifts warrant summoning Arafat’s widow // hmmm why?

December 16, 2011

(h/t ChallahHuAkbar / ynetnews.com) The Justice Ministry says Tunisia has lifted a warrant summoning the widow of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat over a corruption scandal. Ministry spokesman Kadhem Zine El Abidine said Friday that the investigating judge who had issued the warrant against Suha Arafat in October has since reversed that order. The case centered on alleged embezzlement linked to the creation of The International School of Carthage outside Tunis, which she founded in 2006 with Leila Trabelsi, the wife of former longtime Tunisia President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The government was overthrown… remember? who controls North Africa now? you can expect all judicial process to end.
